When and how can I get V4.0?
Version 4.0 will be available November/December, 2008. Please make sure that we have your current email address as notification will arrive via e-mail. Watch your email in-box for details and a link to complete the upgrade.
What are the new features in V4.0?

How do I qualify for the V4.0 upgrade?
eFileCabinet customers with a current Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP) will qualify for the upgrade and automatically receive the email upgrade notification. AMP protects your software investment by providing members the latest version of licensed software, ongoing product upgrades with new features, enhancements and maintenance releases as well as product training and priority technical support. AMP is renewable on an annual basis at a cost of $300.00 for every ten user licenses purchased.
What if my AMP is expired or I no longer use eFileCabinet?
Contact our billing department at amp@efilecabinet.com or 877-574-5505 ext. 1041. We will review your account, discuss your status and help you bring your account current to qualify for the upgrade. It only takes a few minutes.
If I am a current customer with current AMP, do I get the upgrade for free?
Absolutely! You will be notified via email with detailed instructions on how to get the upgrade.
Will you send me a CD of the upgrade?
All current and future eFileCabinet upgrades and new releases will be available via a secure download. Qualified customers will receive the download link via email. V4.0 CDs are available for a nominal fee of $25.00 Customers outside the continental US may incur additional shipping fees.
Is upgrading to 4.0 required?
Upgrading to v4.0 is not required; you can continue to use your current version. However, V4.0 is the most feature-rich release in the history of the company. You dont want to miss out on it!
You mentioned add-ons. What is included in Version 4.0 when upgrading?

How do I get the OCR and PDF Pro editor with V4.0 and what is the cost for each of these?
When you receive your email notification, youll be provided a link and download instructions to enable the add-on features of your choosing.
PDF Pro License $150.00 per workstation
OCR (includes 10,000 pages/month) $325.00 1 license per server
OCR (includes 25,000 pages/month) $695.00 1 license per server
Can you explain how the new concurrent licensing works?
eFileCabinet requires that a client/server license package be purchased for each client/server that runs the software. Additionally, we have added a concurrent licensing model that allows the number of licenses that are purchased to float across the network rather than be assigned to named PCs. This provides additional flexibility for users.
For example, if COMPANY X purchased 15 licenses from eFileCabinet, anyone across the network can access the database simply on a first come, first served basis. The 15 licenses are not assigned to specific computers, but rather float and can be accessed from any computer by the first 15 users that log in.
What if I need to purchase additional licenses?

If I upgrade to Version 4.0 can I go back to V3.5?
eFileCabinet V4.0 features a redesigned database structure that does not support rolling back to previous versions of the software.
What is the process of upgrading from V3.5 to V4.0?
You will receive an email from us in the next few weeks to create your eFileCabinet V4.0 account. This link will allow you to download an installer. Run the installer on your server machine and it will walk you step-by-step through the convert from V3.5 to V4.0. When finished, copy the installer file to your workstation and run it there. Make sure you select the client option on the workstation.
Are there any specific technical issues I need to be aware of before upgrading to V4.0?
The workflow feature in the eFileScanner utility is not available in V4.0.
Additionally, before installing V4.0, we recommend that you disable all shares on the eFileCabinet data folders and change the root paths on the eFileCabinet server to be a local disc. On the eFileCabinet server window, click the "Cabinet" menu and select "Setup." It is the 3rd white box on the "Cabinet Setup" window.
Can I perform the installation of V4.0 myself?
Yes. Just follow the instructions in the email we will be sending to you when the upgrade is available. If you need help, feel free to contact our support team by email, online chat or phone. Support contacts are available on the eFileCabinet website support page.
Are training resources available for upgrading to V4.0?
We want to make upgrading to v4.0 a simple and easy process for our customers. In addition to support from our technical and sales teams, we will make available an array of materials to help you through the process and answer all your questions. Materials will include step-by-step tutorial videos, training manuals, webinar events & replays and much more. Information on setting up your personal resources account will be provided in your upgrade notification email.
Do I need new hardware to support the new software?

*V4.0 will not function in Windows 95, 98 or ME. Software requires Windows 2000 or newer.
